Lindy is responsible for the operational functioning of BDO Tax Services (Tax) and represents Tax, its interests and interactions and contributions to BDO, on the BDO EXCO. 
 
Her career began in audit where she gained a broad understanding of financial and regulatory frameworks. Having garnered a reputation for consistently delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines and taking ownership of challenging projects or tasks, she was recruited as Financial Manager in Tax.

Lindy’s ability to mobilise teams by sharing knowledge, investing in people and letting them focus on their core skills, led to her being appointed the Chief Operating Officer for Tax. In this role, she is responsible for training and development, risk and quality, people, finances, marketing, branding and strategy. In short, she oversees all activities that keep the Tax division effective and efficient.

The reasons why Lindy excels:

  • Lindy is passionate about tax and has focused on improving the South African university and postgraduate training programmes in her role as Training Officer and as part of the Education Committee of the Regulating body. She is passionate about guiding tax trainees through their three-year traineeship, ensuring that they are fully prepared to meet the high standards of the firm’s prestigious training programme, which ultimately affords successful trainees the opportunity to apply for the Tax Advisor (South Africa) designation.

Her commitment to team development and well-being is grounded in the belief that a supportive, engaged workforce is key to success. 
  • As Tax is in a heavily regulated industry, she plays a critical role in managing risk and quality assurance, ensuring the highest standards of compliance and performance for BDO. Lindy is also Tax financial manager where she oversees budgeting, financial planning and resource allocation to support sustainable growth. 
  • She oversees marketing and branding efforts, focusing on ensuring that BDO’s values and expertise are effectively communicated to clients and the broader market. 
  • Lindy enjoys the strategic planning element of management, wherein she shapes the long-term direction of Tax. She ensures the strategy aligns with broader market trends and evolving needs of the clients by balancing growth with operational efficiency.


Whether assisting with clients or supporting Tax staff, Lindy’s approach continues to elevate the BDO values and ensures that Tax continues to be one of the top-performing service lines in the business.
