Seelan is a Director and Head of VAT at BDO. He is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 18 years of legal and tax experience.

Seelan was previously employed as a senior manager in EY’s Indirect tax practice. He was also an operational specialist focusing on domestic direct and indirect taxes at South African Revenue Service (SARS) and prior to joining SARS, was Group Tax Compliance Manager of a JSE listed company.

Seelan provides advice to national and multinational clients in the mining, government parastatals, telecommunications, manufacturing, public sector, information and technology sectors. Seelan holds a B.Proc, LLB and Masters degree in Tax Law.
